Jargon Buster
At Barcham Trees, we like to use jargon busters to break down some of the technical terms for our customers. Below we go through our tree forms and our pot sizes to help you order your next trees.
Tree Forms
Trees can be supplied in a number or different forms determined usually by how they have been pruned and trained on the nursery. These different forms can go by various names, the most common of which are in the following table.
Pot Sizes
All of our trees are containerised in our patented white pots to give them the best change for establishment once planted. Depending on the pot size, might mean you need to hire some machinery or receive some external help to plant larger trees.
Medium
• Height: 3-4m
• Pot Size: 35L, 45L, 55L or 65
Medium trees can planted by hand, with one to two people to move and plant.
Large
- Height: 4-5m
- Pot Size: 65L/100L
These can still be manoeuvred by 2 – 3 strong people but can be tricker to plant without an experienced person.
Instant
• Height: 5m+
• Container Size: 150L, 200L, 250L or 350L
These are substantial trees, so we recommend that you use a contractor or similar to help plant if you are unexperienced. These tree sizes may require machinery to manoeuvre these off the lorry and around the site, and potentially to dig the planting pit.
